Introducing the CleanSpec Lab Rear Chassis Cooling Kits for HP Z2 SFF Workstations
Today marks an exciting milestone for CleanSpec Lab.
We're proud to announce the launch of our first original hardware product line: CleanSpec Lab Rear Chassis Cooling Kits for HP Z2 SFF Workstations.
The initial product family includes:
CSL-001 – Rear Chassis Cooling Kit for HP Z2 G5 SFF Workstations
CSL-002 – Rear Chassis Cooling Kit for HP Z2 G4 SFF Workstations
These products were developed after thermal testing identified the importance of rear chassis airflow in HP Z2 SFF workstation configurations. Rather than simply creating mounting brackets, CleanSpec Lab engineered and validated complete cooling solutions designed to integrate cleanly into the factory rear chassis location.
Unlike many aftermarket accessories, the CleanSpec Lab Rear Chassis Cooling Kit Series wasn't created simply because it could be 3D printed. These products were developed to solve real engineering problems identified during workstation refurbishment and thermal validation.
Why We Developed the Rear Chassis Cooling Kit Series
While refurbishing HP Z2 G5 SFF workstations, we observed that some configurations shipped without a rear chassis exhaust fan. During thermal testing, it became clear that rear chassis airflow plays an important role in overall cooling performance, particularly in higher-performance workstation configurations.
Rather than modifying existing components or relying on improvised mounting methods, we designed a purpose-built solution that integrates cleanly into the factory rear chassis location.
Designed, Tested, and Validated
Every design decision behind the Rear Chassis Cooling Kit Series was guided by testing.
The Rear Chassis Cooling Kit Series was evaluated using production HP Z2 G4 and G5 SFF workstations and validated during OCCT Bronze Certification testing as part of our documented engineering process.
The result is a complete rear chassis cooling solution that combines:
A custom CleanSpec Lab mounting assembly
A high-quality Delta 60 mm PWM fan
Factory-style installation with no permanent chassis modification
Clean integration with the motherboard's 4-pin PWM fan header
